FAQs For SATTVA FEST

WHERE AND WHEN IS SATTVA FEST?

Sattva Fest will be held October 2-5, 2025 at Cedar Springs Retreat Center located at 56887 Shinn Cabin Lane, North Fork, CA 93643.

The drive is about 3.5-4 hours from the Bay Area and Los Angeles, depending on traffic. Be prepared with plenty of water when driving through Fresno or Madera during the day because the Central Valley can be hot!

Driving Tip!

Drive carefully -- speed traps are common after you get off Highway 99 and onto the country roads. Do not go over the posted speed limit; some of us have learned the hard way and have gotten tickets.

GPS will give you good directions almost the entire way there, until you turn onto Putney Place and Shinn Cabin Lane. Please look for colorful signs to guide you.

WILL TICKETS BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR?

Unfortunately no.  As this is a premier event, we are committed to ease and grace for our crew and attendees.

ARE THERE REFUNDS?

Unfortunately there are no refunds.  Tickets are transferable.  Simply have the person taking your place bring your printed ticket.  How?  Email them your QR code or ticket and have them print it out and bring it with them.

WHAT TIME MAY I ARRIVE?

Vendors and crew may arrive on Wednesday, October 1st after 1:00pm or Thursday, October 2nd before 11:30am.

Attendees may start arriving as early as 1:00pm Thursday, October 2nd.  Please do not arrive before 1:00pm.  It will slow down the set-up crew.  If you do show up, we will send you to the parking lot to wait until we are ready to check you in.  Also, please do not arrive after 8:30pm as you will have difficulty finding a camping spot.

Important: when parking in long-term parking, be sure to park facing outward. This is to make for faster and easier egress in case of emergency.

WHEN DOES IT END?

Sattva Fest ends on Sunday, October 5th around 12:30pm.  Attendees must vacate Cedar Springs by 5:00pm.

Vendors may depart as late as Monday, October 6th at 11:00am.

ARE THERE CHARGING STATIONS ON SITE?

Our summer venue has no EV charging infrastructure, and all electrical outlets are quite a long distance from the parking areas. There are a lot of charging stations in Fresno, which is 50 miles away. Be sure to charge up in Fresno before you head up the mountain!

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN EARLY OCTOBER?

In early October you will see mild to cool days and cold nights.  Expect daytime temperatures to range in the mid to high 70s and nighttime temperatures to drastically drop down to the 40s.  Be sure to bring lots of layers and warm clothing as well as warm bedding.  It’s better to be overly prepared.

ARE THERE SHOWERS AND FLUSH TOILETS ON SITE?

Yes, there are two bathhouses with flush toilets and warm showers.  The bathhouse near the amphitheater has 2 toilets and 3 showers for each side (men’s and women’s).  It also has 4 outdoor showers.

The bigger bathhouse down at the lower cabins has 4 toilets and 6 showers on each side (men’s and women’s)

There will also be porta potties at key locations so you won’t have to run very far when nature calls.

IS THE LAKE ACCESSIBLE TO US?

YES!  However, the lake borders public property.  Therefore, swim suits are required.  There is no lifeguard on duty.  Enter at your own risk and do not leave your kids unattended.  Parents are 100% responsible for the safety of their children at all times.

IS THERE POISON OAK AT CEDAR SPRINGS?

YES!  Be sure you and your kids know what it looks like.  Stay on the roads and you should be fine.

CHILD SAFETY AND SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR ALL ATTENDEES

Note that you are 100% responsible for your children’s safety at the Ramble and for making sure that they are aware of the rules and information that follows:

  • Footwear – Foot injuries are the #1 most common medical issue at the Ramble. Please don’t let your children go barefoot and we strongly recommend that you don’t allow them to wear flip flops or other open toed shoes either!

  • Biking (Note: Bikes will be confiscated for the duration of the event if children do not follow these rules)

    • All children must wear helmets and closed toed shoes while biking.

    • Bikers must always 1) be fully in control while riding, 2) travel at a reasonable speed and 3) give pedestrians the right of way.

    • No bike riding after dark – Rocks, roots and ruts are just too much of a risk when you can’t see them.

    • No bikes on the grass – There will be a Bike Parking Area near Check-In where all bikes need to be parked. Laying them on the grass creates a tripping hazard.

    • No “off road” biking – Bikes must stay on the developed roads throughout camp so that they do not negatively impact the natural beauty of Camp Navarro.

  • Water / Swimming – There are no lifeguards on duty at the Ramble, so you need to monitor your own children. Absolutely no children under 12 are allowed by the lake within camp without parental supervision. If your child is 12+ and a strong swimmer, you can set your own rules, but Cedar Springs accepts no responsibility for the decision you make. However, all children should be supervised by an adult if you decide to go down to the lake. Keep in mind that the lake is open to the general public and not just Sattva Fest attendees.

  • Poison Oak– There is a lot of poison oak around Cedar Springs. Make sure your kids know what it looks like and stay away from it. Having your children stay within the cleared areas around camp and not venture off into undergrowth will go a long way towards keeping them out of the poison oak.

  • Ticks– These critters are prevalent in the area so it’s good to do a “tick check” on your children (and yourself) daily.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF AN INJURY OR EMERGENCY?

For minor scrapes, scratches, headaches visit the nurses’ station just behind the office.  In the case of a medical emergency, notify First Aid, Security, any Crew Member and/or call 911.

IS THERE A SUGGESTED PACKING LIST?

YES!  Here are some tips:

  • an easy-up for car campers to provide shade. There is very little shade in the car camping area

  • Bring an umbrella, parasol, pop-up tents, anything to shade yourself from the powerful rays of the sun. Remember your , sun hat, sun glasses, & sunscreen as well! (unscented, please)

  • Low-profile lawn chair for the main stage area

  • a floatie for the lake. Having a floatie can make for an easeful and fun water experience. Also bring a swimsuit! The lake is public and shared with our neighbors

  • a bicycle and helmet. This camp is large (92 acres, although for now we're using about half of it) and getting around will be much faster and easier on a bike. Some paths are graveled, though, so try to stay on the dirt roads or be extra careful since gravel roads can be dangerous to ride on

  • natural mosquito repellant

  • unscented products (shampoo, skin lotion, bug repellent, etc.) Cedar Springs Retreat Center strives to be a scent-free. Bears think some scented products are food, and chemical fragrances make some of us ill. Also know that if you've been burning incense in your van, your clothing probably smells like incense

  • your own very warm bedding (sleeping bag, sheets, blankets, pillows), a tent with rain-fly and sleeping pad if you're camping

  • layers of clothing for warm days and cold nights

  • closed-toed shoes for walking through tall grass (There are rattlesnakes, poison oak,  and ticks at camp)

  • dance gear, dance-specific clothes and footwear, kneepads for contact improv, yoga mats

  • a labeled water bottle

  • lip balm and foot moisturizer -- the climate at camp can be very dry, and feet and lips can get dry and crack

  • fun, festive attire

  • drums, musical instruments, games, hula-hoops, frisbees, etc.

  • personal toiletries and healthcare supplies (unscented, right?)

  • earplugs, night lights, power strips for your devices (for shared cabins), and a flashlight and batteries

  • anything else that will aid your well-being, good health, and comfort at camp (as long as it's not also something we've asked you NOT to bring)

  • smoking is permitted around the fire pit in the amphitheater only

What to leave at home:

  • pets

  • alcohol

  • non-prescription drugs

  • preconceived notions

  • perfumes and other scented products

  • candles and incense

  • camping stoves
